Tucka, Marianne von

Clay is a wonderful material to work with and I am continually exploring different methods of making contemporary vessels, wall-pieces and sculptural objects. The surface designs are drawn by incised curved and straight lines to counterpoint the form. My passion for colour and texture has inspired me to develop a range of vibrant stoneware glazes and these are applied by brush in layers. I have a very eclectic and intuitive approach to my work and am aware of many influences. These include an initial training in music, the work of post-impressionist painters and a keen interest in the landscape.
