I am an American ceramicist living and working in Lancashire. I use a heavily grogged stoneware to create outdoor sculpture that is hand built and made to withstand the elements. For my functional and sculpturally functional work I use a white stoneware with a high iron content that fires with a distinctive speckled appearance. This work is either wheel thrown or hand built. Both are made with design in mind and to be robust and hard wearing for every day use.
