My work is intentionally fun and optimistic with a dash of whimsy thrown in for good measure. Life can be so serious and in response I feel compelled to expressing amusing, absurd or evocative moments. I feel strongly about the importance of play; curiosity and experimentation are key. Unfathomable calligraphy and joyful, accidental pattern making is my style. Hand stitched loops on paper are pressed into the beautifully responsive surface of clay. I use disregarded items, such a pen lids and broken buttons, in the hope that I can breathe new life into them as mark making tools.
