Whilst at university I drew a pregnant life model, the female form has inspired me ever since, as has the beauty of animals in nature. I use various techniques to build my forms, all hand building: coiling and pinching the clay before being highly burnished. Smoke firing creates wonderful marks on the clay surface, like the scars we accumulate in our lives.
I am loving my ceramic journey; long may I be able to simply play with this marvelous mud.
