Borg, Kathryn

My work is concentrated on functional forms, inspired by the natural world.  I want my pieces to be functional, but also aesthetically pleasing. I use a variety of hand-building techniques including pinching, coiling, slabbing, moulding and use a variety of glazes and different coloured clays to complement these forms.

I really enjoy the time I spend teaching ceramics and also creating in my workshop, I find it relaxing, therapeutic, creative and extremely rewarding. I love the medium of clay, its many techniques and how it can be transformed into many different forms, be that either functional or sculptural.
