GLAD ABOUT CERAMICS

I chose to be ‘Glad About Ceramics’ because I am. After graduating with a degree in Art & Design in 1978, it took over forty years for me to start out as a very ‘mature’ emerging artist a few years ago. I like to explore ideas about how to build, fire and finish pots. I’m increasingly inspired by birds, wings, flight and furrows, and I like to think that these themes can be seen running through my work in different ways. While I love to hand-build, I continue to develop my ability to throw forms on a potter’s wheel. Combining thrown pots with the process of sawdust firing is a particular interest at the present time.
